Primary Maths Tutoring

1

Assesment Process

On the first session, I conduct an initial assessment using the White Rose Maths framework to understand your child’s baseline skills. This helps me determine their current level and how it compares to their age group. Based on the results, I provide detailed feedback and create a personalised learning plan to address their strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring targeted support throughout their lessons.

2

Personalised Planning

After the initial assessment, I create a personalised learning plan tailored to your child’s needs, focusing on their strengths and areas for improvement. I usually recommend 1 hour of tutoring per week, which can be split into smaller sessions depending on their age and requirements. Based on the taster session, I’ll advise the best approach, whether that’s 2 x 30-minute sessions or 45-minute lessons. Even with just 4 lessons (one month), you’ll begin to see noticeable progress. These tailored sessions will be reflected in monthly packages, with flexible payment options based on the plan we agree upon.

Safe and Nurturing Environment

My approach to tutoring is rooted in empathy, fun, and engagement. I create a safe and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable to explore new concepts. While my lessons are enjoyable and interactive, I also believe in the importance of boundaries and respect, fostering mutual respect between myself and my students. A respectful adult encourages respectful children, creating a positive learning atmosphere.

I also believe that making mistakes is a natural part of learning, and I encourage this throughout my lessons. Mistakes are opportunities for growth, and I emphasize that perfectionism is neither realistic nor attainable. My lessons are not just about getting good marks – they’re about building confidence, discovering potential, and fostering a love for learning.
